Suzuki Vstrom 650/1000 Adjustable Windshield Mount

#1 Unread post by Torch99 »

Are you having helmet buffeting problems with your Suzuki Vstrom. The answer is the MADSTAD AWM-04 Adjustable Windshield Mount Kit. It replaces the plastic window mount, and takes about 15 minutes to install. it allows you to adjust the winshield up and down and tilt it from almost vertical back about 30 degrees. I bought it from my local bike dealer, but you can buy it from the manufacturer, and there is a demo video. The manufacturers web site is http://madstad.com. Its the best money I have spent yet on accessories and worth every penny.

I only occasionally experience buffeting and that's only with a passenger above 70 mph so rarely. It's fixed by her holding me tighter... so I like my fix better.

Those that do feel it often hit the hardware store, spend less than a dollar on longer windshield mounting bolts and washers and the issue goes away.

I think the madstad makes a V-strom 100% uglier... and that's saying something

LOL!! Very true! An incredibly versatile and competent bike, but has a face only a mother could love. The V-Strom is one of those bikes that form definitely followed function. But like in the original BMW GSs, the mfugliness becomes part of the appeal.

The Madstad bracket is pretty well known in V-strom circles, and it is a worthwhile product. I've had one on my DL1000 since it was almost new, and a Laminar Lip also. After getting so many things right with this bike, Suzuki surely did screw up the aerodynamics - but it's fixable as the OP pointed out.
