Bike Lust

#1 Unread post by Flipper »

Ok exactly what country do I have to move to in order to buy a bike this wonderful?
It seems that every bike I fall in love with is unobtainable.
I think the beautifully appointed yellow accents are what put me over the edge.

for a while there i was quite confuzzled by the apparent steering damper under the tank....until i realized it was a reservoir for the rear shock.

Yamaha is going crazy, they are trying to knock off Honda as the sales leader, and every bike they make is top of the line best, but their sales are not there yet, Yamaha won't bring a new model to the U.S. unless they know it will sell, (they want good sales figures on their current models before they release a new model)
The Tmax has been in Europe since 2001 before it was brought to the U.S. in 2009, and the Tmax isn't selling, dealers are still stocked with new 2009's, and there has been talk by Tmax owners that Yamaha is going to make a 750 Tmax, NO! Yamaha will never make a 750 unless their 500cc Tmax sells increase.
You have to understand its a much different motorcycle culture in Europe than in the U.S. In Europe people own motorcycles as commuter vehicles (many people don't own a car, just a motorcycle)
In the U.S. most people own a motorcycle for pleasure riding

At $4.00 a gallon more people will ride.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Always wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

My Yamaha Tmax gets a lot of attention when I am fueling up at a gas station, everybody asks what kind of gas mileage it gets?
They always get a dissapointed look on their face when I tell them between 44-49 mpg, they were expecting me to tell them it gets 100 mpg, then they ask "why did I buy it for"? I tell them to impress me, not you!
My Yamaha FZ6 gets 55 mpg
