Any news on 2007 CBR600F4i?

#1 Unread post by Erik_S » Wed Jul 05, 2006 1:09 pm

Hello all,

From what I've gathered looking through the forums, September is the target for Honda sport bike news/introductions. Is this correct?

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a bike again. It's been about 8 years since I've owned a bike (EX 500) and with my brother just getting a new bike and now he and his family is moving closer to me, he'll want to ride on weekends (and I have missed having a bike). I've always liked the CBR600F series (since it was the Hurricane) and said if I ever got another bike that would be the one. Although I like the RR, it's seating position is just too race inspired for what I want.

I'm curious if there will be any major changes in the 2007 F4 model (if it will even still be around) and if so, what the paint schemes will be. If the F4 came in the orange like the RR, I wouldn't even be posting--I would have gotten one already as orange is my favorite color. My dilemma is, do I agonize until September speculating whether or not the 07 F4 will come in orange or do I just go ahead and get the yellow 2006 now and don't look back. Any ideas (or insider info)? Thanks.

Erik

Honda normally has two new model introductions. The first is in June and is usually for carry over models, which was pretty much the case this year. The main press release for new models in is early September. As far as the CBR, I haven't heard of any redesign but Honda is pretty tight lipped about their new models. I have to agree with you about the F4 model and I'm thinking about getting one myself. I've sat on the RR and it's just not that comfortable. But I guess people don't buy the RR for comfort... I hope they continue the F4, but I don't see it being offered in orange since it's more of a conservative bike compared to the RR. Maybe you should buy a used one for now and then sit back and see what Honda does.

Thanks for the insight and advice. I may just have to start looking for a 2000 F4. I believe they came in orange that year--although not as striking as the RR orange.

Shouldn't be to hard to find an orange CBR in the Sunshine State (with official flower the orange blossom) right? Now getting the wife to buy into it will be the trick--suffice to say she puts up with enough of my hobbies aleady but at least she knew me when I bought the EX and married me anyway so that's a plus. She just wants to make sure the kids keep their father--me too for that matter!

Anyway, if your screen name hints of a Florida residence, born in 71, we're same age and same State. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime. Good luck in your search too.

I don't remember an orange CBR in 2000, but good luck in your search. That orange RR does look pretty sweet. I figured we were close in age when you mentioned the Hurricane. I was in love with that bike when it came out and I still think that original design looks good to this day. I'm in Orlando, so let me know if you're close by.

I'm in Orlando as well (NE side). I asked Seminole Powersports about the '07's but no info. Also called Honda Customer Service--only info I got from them was the paint code for the orange on the RR (YR263 Pearl Fire Orange). They said I could always just paint an F4 with that. True enough but not something I wanted to do. So, the hunt continues...

Well, I see hondanews.com has listed all the 2007 models now EXCEPT the F4i. Has it been discontinued? Has anyone heard anything?

Still no word on the '07. I've checked with the local dealer and Honda Customer service--still no news either way. Guess I'll just have to wait longer since no one seems to know. :frusty:

Something like this would be nice...
