Ducati Considering Racing FX In 2007
Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - by dean adams - superbikeplanet.com

Larry Pegram, the former Ducati rider may be back on Ducatis next season in the FX class.

It has been rumored for weeks that something tasty continues to bubble and boil at Ducati North America regarding US racing in 2007. While some thought a private 999 Superbike effort might be in the works

(Russell/Bostrom/Bostrom crewchief Gary Medley is still on the loose for '07), tonight that does not seem likely.

Sources say Ducati is considering backing an effort to race the FX class in '07, and the team closely associated with this rumor is the Larry Pegram squad, which ran customer Honda Superbikes in 2006. Pegram would be 749 Ducati mounted in the Daytona 200, presumably, if this came to pass.

Interestingly, FX rules were modded for the upcoming season, allowing Twins to be punched out to a full 850cc. That detail alone had several tuners looking over the 749 Ducati spec sheet, rubbing their collective chin and murmuring "hmmm".
