2006-2007 CYCLE WORLD INTERNATIONAL MOTORCYCLE SHOWS® PRESENTED BY TOYOTA TO FEATURE WORLD’S TALLEST AND SMALLEST MOTORCYCLES, STUNT SHOW AND MUCH MORE
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows Press Release

New 2007 Models and Added Features Promise to Appeal to Every Industry Segment

Santa Ana, Calif. – (October 12, 2006) – The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota is hitting the road for its 26th year and will be bigger and better than ever with a number of newly added features including an interactive Welcome Center for new riders, bigger display areas for all industry segments – such as custom sportbikes, cruisers, ATVs and motocross, and exciting entertainment. Kicking off November 3, in Phoenix, this 13-city nationwide motorcycle extravaganza will bring motorcycle fun and hundreds of 2007-model street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers and ATVs from more than 17 manufacturers to motorcycle lovers across the country.

“This year’s series is bigger than it has ever been, as there is truly something for everyone, even new riders looking to learn more about riding and bikes,” said Show Director Jeff D’Entremont. “We have created expanded showcases with awesome displays for the ATV/outdoor, cruiser, custom sportbike and motocross enthusiast, as well as unique features such as the world’s fastest, smallest and tallest motorcycles, BOSS ‘Ball of Steel’ Stunt Show and Motocross America – ‘The Tour’ to really wow the crowds.”

Following is a detailed description of all the amazing features coming to shows across the country:

World’s Fastest Motorcycle on Tour – The BUB #7 Streamliner, which recently broke the land-speed racing world record at the FIM/AMA Sports – International Motorcycle Speed Trials, will be traveling with the show for attendees to get an up close look at this record breaking machine. Piloting Denis Manning’s BUB Streamliner, rider Chris Carr broke the land speed record, registering 354.832 mph on the down run and 346.939 on the return for an average of 350.885 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats (Utah) in early September. Bike owner Manning and rider Carr will also be on-site at select shows to answer questions and talk about this amazing bike.

“Big Toe” and “Little Toe” – Come see the world’s tallest and smallest motorcycles, all the way from Sweden! “Big Toe,” the world’s tallest motorcycle, is a custom, one-of-a-kind bike that spans 15 feet in length and 7 feet tall. Equipped with a 300 hp Jaguar V12 engine, this monster motorcycle can reach top speeds of 60 mph! Its smaller counterpart, “Small Toe,” is the world’s smallest motorcycle, with a front wheel diameter of .62 inch and a rear wheel diameter of .86 inch, a seat height of 2.55 inches and weighing only 2.4 pounds – and it’s still rideable. While this micro-machine can only go slightly over one mph, it was ridden for a distance of more than 30 feet to qualify it for the Guinness Book of World Records in 2003. These are two jaw-dropping bikes that you won’t see anywhere else in the world! The display is courtesy of CTEK™, the developer and designer of a unique series of compact and flexible battery chargers for all lead-acid batteries.

Debut of $250,000 Custom Star Cruiser – “Nehmesis,” a $250,000 award-winning Star motorcycle custom chopper designed and built by Broward Motorsports/BMS Choppers’ Owner Sam Nehme will be on display for the first time ever since receiving first place in the Custom Radical category at the 2006 Biketoberfest Rats Hole competition and also Best of Show at the Boardwalk Show in Daytona Beach. This was the first time ever a metric (Japanese) bike beat out the American bikes to win this coveted award. The bike has to be seen to be believed, it is full of firsts – no kickstand; full air suspension (front and rear) that raise the bike to a riding level and park the bike on the frame; largest rear motorcycle tire ever – 360 mm; gold and chrome plating; a custom frame with no supporting down tubes along with a single sided front or rear swingarm holding the wheels and tires; and the list goes on. Nehmesis was built in six months as part of the Metric Revolution Motorcycle Build Off set to air on ESPN2 in April 2007.

Big Twin Customs and “People’s Choice Award” – Back by popular demand, this display will be dedicated to a collection of some of the hottest one-of-a-kind custom bikes from around the country. These are some of the most unique bikes ever built and surely some of the coolest you have ever seen! A “People’s Choice Award” will be given to the best bike at each show as voted on by attendees, with an overall “Best of Show” awarded at season’s end via online voting.

Custom Sportbike and “People’s Choice Award” – One-of-a-kind, tricked-out custom sportbikes will take center stage in the Custom Sportbike display. This emerging art form of bikes customized with eclectic paint jobs, chrome, stretched swingarms, huge tires, nitros and superchargers is sure to capture audiences all over the country. Each display will feature creations from local builders and attendees are invited to vote for their favorite bike, with the winning bike taking home the “People’s Choice Award” at each show. In addition to the individual show awards, fans can log on to the show Web site, www.motorcycleshows.com and vote for their favorite overall bike from all 13 shows.

Custom Bike Builders – Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-off Champion and founder of MATT HOTCH DESIGNS, Matt Hotch, will greet fans, sign autographs and talk customs at shows in Houston, Fort Worth, Texas; Long Beach, Calif.; New York, Cleveland, Minneapolis and Chicago. Other nationally renowned builders will also be participating in the show series this year.

Demo Rides – Licensed motorcyclists who bring their own riding gear (including a helmet) can test drive some of the hottest and newest street bikes at various shows. The manufacturer-sponsored (Buell, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Piaggio and Star Motorcycles) demo rides will be held on Saturday and Sunday during daylight hours, weather permitting, in Phoenix, Houston, San Mateo, Calif. and Long Beach, Calif.
Motocross America – ‘The Tour’ – New this year is the Motocross America Tour, which in conjunction with the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, will trace the evolution of motocross in the United States with period bikes, images and apparel, showing the growth and technological evolution of this ever-so popular sport over the years. Motocross legends such as Decoster, Hannah, Bailey and McGrath will be depicted in the display along with championship-winning dirt bikes.

ATV/Outdoor Feature – The increasingly popular ATV market will have its very own feature this year where ATV and outdoor riders will find the latest in ATV buildups, aftermarket parts and accessories from leading manufactures and more.

SONY Play Station 3 – The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota will be one of the first places to see the brand new PS3 from Sony. This hard to come by new gaming system from Sony will be at all shows where you can see it up close, play games and test your skills!

New Welcome Center – Advanstar’s new Welcome Center will be home to a plethora of information for new riders and those looking to get into the sport. The center will also house show information, including floor plans, exhibitor lists, product giveaways and more.

For the 14th consecutive year, Cycle World, the nation’s most popular motorcycle magazine, will be the title sponsor for the series and leading manufacturer Toyota will return for the ninth year as presenting sponsor. Progressive Motorcycle Insurance and Sony will again be the official product sponsors for the shows. The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota is Fueled by Advanstar and is the world’s largest motorcycle show series.
