Gearing Up for the 2007 Riding Season 2007 Calgary Motorcycle Show
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - Calgary Motorcycle Show Press Release - Total Motorcycle - www.totalmotorcycle.com

The 2007 Calgary Motorcycle Show kicks off at noon Friday, January 5th and runs through to Sunday, January 7th at 5:00 p.m. at the Roundup Centre, Stampede Park.

Bike enthusiasts will have an exclusive opportunity to view the latest 2007 models from Aprilia, BMW, BRP, Ducati,
E-TON, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Hyosung, Jianshe, Kawasaki, KTM, Kymco, Suzuki, Triumph, Vespa, Victory, and Yamaha.

In addition to the motorcycles, ATV’s and scooters you will find a huge assortment of parts, accessories and riding related paraphernalia.

The exhibit that continues to draw great crowds each year is the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group’s display. This year’s tribute to the 1970’s should bring back fond memories for many motorcycling enthusiasts. The 70’s saw the birth of the term “Superbike” as the Japanese developed and unveiled some of the best performing motorcycles seen to date. Yamaha’s line of ready-made cruisers and Honda’s release of the first North American Gold Wing were two of the highlights of this decade. Not to be outdone, the Europeans responded by adding styled bodywork to their traditional bikes. It was the birth of the V-twin heritage for Moto Guzzi and Ducati, and the introduction of the Low Rider and Fat Bob from Harley-Davidson. The 70’s is an era in the motorcycling industry that will surely live in infamy

Don’t forget to check out the ramp to ramp high flying action of the Kawasaki Green Team, captained by veteran back flipper Jeff Fehr. Riders of all ages from the Canadian Mini Road Racing Association will be vying for the first ever Indoor National Title.

The Parts Canada – Red Line Fashion Review will feature men’s and women’s riding and casual attire from Arlen Ness, Bitchin Gear, ICON, Alpinestars, Thor and Z1R.

For the want to be bikers, the Yamaha Kids Riding Academy is sure to be a family favorite. Under the supervision of certified instructors, kids between the ages of 6-12 will be introduced to the world of off-road in a safe but fun atmosphere.

As the Show winds up on Sunday, The Calgary Sun and CJAY 92 will play host to the lucky qualifiers for the grand prize draw. When it is all said and done one lucky person will ride away on a 2007 Kawasaki VN900 B7F Cruiser, courtesy of Pro-Am Motorcycles.

The 2007 Calgary Motorcycle Show runs from noon on Friday, January 5th until 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 7th, at the Roundup Centre, Stampede Park. Admission is $12.50 for adults, $9.00 for juniors (6-15 years), and $33.00 for families (2 adults, 2 juniors). Kids under 6 get in free when accompanied by an adult.

Canadian National Sportsmen’s Show is a non-profit Corporation and the largest producer of outdoor shows in Canada. Through its family of shows, the Corporation raises funds to ensure that generations of Canadians can benefit from Canada’s outdoors. Since the first show held in 1948, more than $28 million has been committed to these causes.

The Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council and the Canadian All-Terrain Vehicle Distributors Council are the national, non-profit trade associations representing the responsible interests of the major motorcycle, scooter and ATV manufacturers, distributors, retail outlets and users of related products and services. MMIC/CATV member companies account for over 99 percent of all new motorcycles and ATVs sold in Canada and support the Canadian on-road and off-road riding communities through their development and promotion of advanced training, safety and environmentally responsible riding programs. Through the cooperative efforts of its members, the MMIC and CATV work to enhance government relations and public affairs by representing the industry as a forum within which to identify and act on issues of importance on behalf of all Canadian riders and related industry stakeholders. MMIC/CATV policy initiatives are further communicated through their ownership and production of Canada’s premiere New Model Showcase Motorcycle and ATV Shows held each year in six major Canadian cities.
