Weird, I haven't run into compatibility issues with Firefox for years and years. Mostly it had to do with financial companies not letting you use their system if they think you are running Firefox.

Can you give specifics as to what was not compatible?

I like having a few shortcuts on my desk top. I can click on TMW without having to do the extra step of loading the browser first and then scrolling to find what I want to click on it there.

ofblong...just give me some advance notice.....

Skier

After I installed Firefox, none of my shortcuts would work. I also could no longer open links in emails.

It messed up my favourites list and added some I did not want. I removed them.

It may have been faster, but now my computer is back to functional.

I've only run into compatibility issues with sites like break.com and heavy.com. But they use programming that is obscenely bad relatively speaking and only tested in IE.

That's not Firefox being incompatible, that's your system being set to open links not using Firefox.

Your favorites/bookmarks not being imported correctly is a new one to me, I've never seen it.

Well, maybe when I have time I can try again. I'll see about what settings I need. In the meantime, I'll see how IE8 works.

I am not going to try to convert you. Use what works, just don't be bad-mouthing programs when they don't deserve it. ;)

I know there is a wink there....however..
I hardly call what I said "bad mouthing"
I have now uninstalled Firefox and have installed IE8.

Things are working again....the Firefox was not very compatible with my system.

hehe well IE "shortcuts" wont work because you didnt truly save them as a shortcut. Most of us dont like "clutter" on our desktops and well a shortcut to some page is "clutter". On top of that what happens when you want to load another "shortcut"? Yup you got to minimize yer browser to find yer shortcut which will take just as long as it would clicking Bookmarks and then scrolling to find yer shortcut.

I wont try to convert you but just giving some reasoning the contradict yer reasoning

got some presents wrapped before school lets out for vacation. Flew my little helicoper around for the first time in a couple of months. That was fun.
Got on here for the first time today which reminded me that my sons motorcycle was stolen. Now i feel depressed. Thanks TMW. :(
He needs something bigger then the 50 now anyway. But damn it sucks.

Got the 599's new clutch basket and hub installed. While I was in there I replaced the clutch plates and discs since I had new ones lying around anyways.

Exciting.
