Yeah, he was one of my faves as well. "The Far Side" is right up there with "Bloom County" and "Calvin And Hobbs", IMO.

+1 on Bloom COunty, Breathed is still pumpin them out, changed the name of the strip a few times, I believe its just "Opus" now. Bill the Cat FTW!

.... i pick up Far Side books every once in awhile. i hadn't realized he wasn't writing and drawing anymore, but, hey - at least he has written enough good stuff to keep oneself amused for awhile. Timeless Really, dinosaurs and all...
