:band:

Thought this might give an insight into our collective musical history. We can post top 5 musical acts, from any era that we would have love to see if they were still performing now. Imagine the gig in context of the age.

If you feel like giving reasons or any biog then feel free

1/ BILLIE HOLIDAY.......
love that smoky jazz scene with prohibition gin in teacups.

2/ JANIS JOPLIN.......
mad, bad energy at a flower power festival

3/ THE DOORS............
The bad boy image appeals I guess. I share a surname with Jim, so always thought he might be a cousin
4/ THIN LIZZY...........
Haunting bluesy rock concert. 3 days after I stopped working in an ICU, Phil was admitted & died, (kinda glad I didn't see that).

5/ BOB DYLAN...........
Would have to be pre electric in a cool beatnik coffee house

It's really difficult to keep it to 5! :?

1. Pink Floyd During the roger Waters years so I could see the elaborate stage shows.

2. The Allman Brothers Band Back when Duane was alive. He is my hero.

3.The Ramones Before everyone started dying. Pure awesomeness

4. Black Sabbath before they split up and got old. Sorry Ozzy looks like a walking corpse these days.

5. The Moody Blues back in the day. I just love me some Moody Blues.

It is kinda hard to limit it to just five.

Hmmmm, would love to have seen

Soundgarden - back in the 90s, just that loud grunge sound. Might get a chance again though, hear they are touring.

Nirvana - I'm a child of grunge, and would have loved to have seen thjese guys live

Neil Young - I grew up listening to him, would have loved to have seen him in the Crazy Horse days.

White Zombie - they never put out a bad albumn in my opinion. I saw rob zombie solo show once and when they played some White Zombie stuff it really sounded good.

Death From Above 1979 - Canadian twosome who split up a whiole back, would be a good show. Really enjoy their sound.

Hmmm... I imagine you mean Mr Mojo Risin, which just happens to be an anagram of Jim Morrison also known as the Lizard King...

Saw "The Who" when they toured as a backing band to "Herman's Hermits", The Beatles played Vancouver then were promptly banned from the city, but I got to sit outside the Empire Stadium and listen to the show. There are so many I saw, that picking ones I'd like to see but missed is tough. I think my diverse tastes in music might be brought into public now...

Definitely the early Elvis, I think that I would like to see him during a '50's era concert.

Maria Callas, just a simple concert of all her arias would be fine for me.

I think a whole list of the BIG BANDS would fit in here now, Benny Goodman, Count Bassie, Duke Ellington, Bob Crosby (Bing's brother if I'm correct), Dizzy Gillespie, Tommy Dorsey, Gene Krupa (drummer extrodinaire), Louis Armstrong, Les Brown, the list is long...

If I could time travel, I'd like to re-see the concert I saw in Berlin Germany, July 14th 1990. Phil Collins "Seriously Live" concert at the Waldbuhne Amphitheatre In The Air Tonight, live in Berlin Think I might just go out and buy the DVD of that concert...
