I've been hearing about using ABS pastic cement
for repairing fairings and other pieces. The claim is it will hold these pieces together. I have the fender
that came on my '87 Concours, it's not good for much else. I took a big crack
, cleaned it with a gp cleaner, slopped a line of cement
down the crack, and left it to dry overnight. When I examened the fender in the morning it was somewhat held together, but it easily tore apart. Next I took the edge of the fender
and cleaned it with a muti-purpose degreaser
followed by good old rubbing alcohol
. I coat the cracks, lay a piece of screen across, and dap on more cement
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
