2006 yamaha r6 dies when i come to a stop or slow down

#1 Unread post by badazzr6 »

i recently removed the levers to paint them, i also changed the oil and filter, as well as the air filter. previous to these changes the bike was running great. except it was time for a little maintenance.

anyway, the bike turned on just fine. i started riding it and it seemed fine. works fine on the freeways and while in motion.

the problem is when i come to a stop, either at a light or a stop sign, or just any kind of slowing.

basically ill be in 4th gear and i start to downshift, next thing i know the bike has lost all power and its dead. i start it back up and its fine. sometimes i have to pull the throttle a little to get it started back up. so the bike is basically turning completely off whenever i come to a stop.

can anyone PLEASE HELP ME with this problem. id like to save some money before taking it to a shop and getting charged a lot more then i think this problem is worth.

Turn the idle up?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Maybe recheck to make sure there are no air leaks where you put the new air filter in?
