master cylinder 82 kaw

#1 Unread post by dlmsmay »

i bought this bike at a junk yard and am working on resoring it. i cleaned the front master cylinder and the calipers and all of the parts looked good, but i ended up buying a master cylinder rebuild kit anyway because i can't get it to work. it just does not seem to want to build up pressure. i have filled the lines with fluid and i have not leaks. any ideas?

Likely a bad bore in the MC with pitting or scratches. Otherwise bad hoses flexing instead of holding pressure.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Does this mean you disassembled and examined the master cylinder and both calipers. You might want to try vacuum bleeding. They sell a kit at the discount tool place.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
