VTR1000 having trouble shifting into 1st

#1 Unread post by Fargo360 »

Just like it says, having trouble shifting into 1st with the 'Hawk. All the other gears seam to work fine and shifting into neutral is fine too. Its like 1st gear isn't there, the shifter just springs back up when I push it down. On that note, I did dump it trying to avoid a cop that pulled out in front of me last year and had to drop it on the left side, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It work fine the rest of the year and the few times I had it out this year. The clutch and front brake feel kinda spongy and I don't know how to tighten that up either. I dunno at this point, just looking for direction. Thanks much and happy riding...that is if you are out riding yet...

change the oil
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Ditto. Also the spongy clutch and brakes are due to the hydraulic fluid not being bled/changed in a long time.
