My 1980 Kawasaki 750 Ltd is having idle problems. It starts up well but idles too high or to low . The rpms change as it runs every once in a while. I have trying adjusting the idle and the mixture screw but i cant figure it out. When I put the choke on the RPMS increase. IT also has a slow throttle response and it stays reved up high for a while . It doesnt come back to normal. I just need some suggestions on what to try.

Howdy! How's your bike now? I was helping my buddy installing the new set of tires and (link removed by admin)
on his Wrangler when his uncle came with a Honda CX500 that has almost the same issue on idle. We cleaned the carb and put on new spark plug. We also checked some wiring. After a few times playing with the idle screw it idles smoothly now. Yours sounds like a current problem. Try a new spark plug and see if it will make any difference.
