I only get spark for about 5 seconds

Hi my 82 hawk is testing my patience. .
I took off about a week ago from the gas station went about ten feet and it just died..I've replaced the coil....
plugs and wires ...caps.....
What I'm finding is when I ground the plug and check for spark against the block I get weak spark for about 7-10
Revolutions..then nothing ..
Meter reads 31 - 32.4 for the alternating current coming out of the plug that plugs into the coil ...
Basically I'm getting 5 seconds of spark then nothing...
Battery is a year old maybe reads 12.5. Then between 8-9 amps when cranking...
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated
