CB900Custom oil stopper on valve head?

#1 Unread post by AOrhun »

Hi everybody,
I own a '82 CB900 Custom which I cherish.
I had to do total strip down of Valve Head recently. Among other things I have seen the "Oil Stopper Plate"s (Part no 12241-425-000) situated on Cam Shaft caps B and C are in bad shape and these small parts are not available any more.

Does any one know the function of "Oil Stopper Plate"s (Part no 12241-425-000) situated on Cam Shaft caps B and C ?

What happens if I omit installing them.

Thanks for your inputs.
Best Regards

The "Oil Stopper Plates" (Part no 12241-425-000) located on Cam Shaft caps B and C of your '82 CB900 Custom serve the function of preventing oil leakage from the camshaft area. They help maintain proper lubrication and prevent oil from seeping out, ensuring the efficient operation of the camshaft components.

The "Oil Stopper Plate" (Part no 12241-425-000) situated on Cam Shaft caps B and C in your CB900 Custom has a specific function. These plates help prevent oil from leaking out of the camshaft journals and ensure proper lubrication within the engine. They act as seals or barriers to keep the oil in place and prevent it from escaping or seeping into areas where it shouldn't be. If these plates are in bad shape or damaged, it may result in oil leakage and affect the lubrication system of the camshaft.

The "Oil Blocker" (Part No. 12241-425-000) is a product specifically designed to prevent oil leakage or seepage in certain machines or equipment. Its effectiveness can depend on various factors, such as the type of machine, the condition of the equipment, and the application method.
