Baffles....leave 'em, remove 'em or other options

#1 Unread post by 08FatBob »

I just picked up my first bike, an 08 H-D Fat Bob. Love the bike and love the ride, but I want to turn up the volume a little though. I really like the pipes on the bike and am not real fired up about changing them out. If I have the baffles taken out, will that require an new breather kit and remapping and if so what should I expect in price, thanks in advance.

If you can have the baffles removed, why can't you have the baffle modified?

You still need to remap the FI.

It can be done but you will need to change the controller and possibly void warranty

Mine just fell out. Or rather, fell in - into the pipes. So I had to fish 'em out. But didn't the pipes made a lovely noise without them!

So it was rather hard for me to put them back.

Believe me, this is straight up!

No, I swear, this is the god's honest truth - really!

Sheesh! :D

Every time I go past one of those obnoxiously loud snorting and farting HD's, I am ever so tempted to follow it to its parking spot and shove a big King Edward Potato into the pipes.
Always ask why.

Had nearly the same thing as sv,But my baffle fell out all together.Tried it without baffles and it sounds fantastic,Not too loud ,But real deep and throaty.Get a bit of a spit back through the carbs, But nothing serious.Maybe one day ill get round to getting another baffle,Maybe not.Think id rather sort the fueling out and forget the baffles.xjrjohn
