599 vs FZ6
Thoughts? Opinions? Both look really good to my eye. Both have similar performance numbers, both ARE definatly grey area bikes (maybe a little too dark a shade of grey), both are really really comfy. Sure the 599 is a bit more, but i'd be financing and willing to own either for the 5 years it'd be financed. Well, ride them, the bank/financer would own it .

Either would work well. I am leaning more towards the FZ6 myself. It has fuel injection and some wind protection, plus its a little roomier than the 599. The 599s riding position is a little more aggressive and with the updates for 06 I would give it a slight edge as a backroad blaster.
The 919 is real nice too and has FI to boot. for 1000 more than the 599 its a great deal where the 599 is a tad overpriced. The 919s engine doesn't have a lot more power than the 599s but it makes that power at lower rpms and has the added benefit of FI. The 919 is roomier than the 599 and even a little roomier than the FZ6

I think that the Z750 would be pushing it a tad too much. But i HAVE read some good reviews on it.Mintbread wrote:What about the Z750?
It is injected and has a lot of bang for your buck.
And as to the thing about the SV, the only one i've seen/sat on in person is the SV1k. Let's put it this way, I'd rather do a long hauld on a 929RR than that thing. BUT that's just me. Sure, if i DO see one and like it, it'd be on top of the list, but the 599 and the FZ6 are the ones i've sat on. And jmillheiser, to me, both the 599 and FZ6 felt similar enough that neither one jumped out as more comfy.

I vote for the 599, if only because I don't care for bikini fairings and like naked bikes. My only complaint about the 599 is the riding position might be a touch too aggressive, but 100 to 200 mile days aren't tough. This weekend I'll be trying to fit in a couple of 300 mile days, I'll report back (if I remember).
