Re: What do you do in your regular life?
So from my post in the other related thread. Seems fair to update since I have had two promotions since then. Currently I serve as my team screener which means I am the [non-management] team leader, I manage my team's workload. Today I got a promotion I was denied for a week ago (I guess I was the second choice and a spot opened up LOL), so in a couple weeks I will switch to a new team that works with irregular inventory and basically commits it to orders (the system automatically commits inventory to orders based on some equations, anytime it cannot, a human has to look at it and determine if we can commit stock or not).JVRR wrote:But now, I am no longer unemployed... I am a Customer Solutions Specialist for a chemical distribution company. Which is fancy language for I work in a call center* (albeit a highly sophisticated, ultra-modern, and development focused one). The pay is good, the perks are awesome, and the long-term career potential/opportunity is huge. It's only day two, but I am definitely looking forward to it!
*Okay technically it is an "Interaction Center" since about 50% of the orders are placed electronically via fax email/website.

Principal of a private school
best: the kids (and my teaching staff)
worst: the parents
LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing students suddenly recognize the depth of their potential!
oh, and school vacations are nice, but in administration, you still gotta work

I work as a construction foreman. I specialize in remodel work (done hundreds of bathrooms the last 20 something years!)
I love doing electrical work, esp when I get to design it with the owners!
Love getting new people in the company and teaching them valuable skills.
Hate paperwork and firing guys that can't get it together

Just changed jobs about four months ago...was Corporate Quality Advisor for Electrical & Instrumentation, now I'm E&I Project Manager for mid size projects ($5 - $50M)...looking to transition back into the field as an Electrical Superintendent on Oil & Gas projects...(show me the money!! management doesn't pay as well as you would think)
Later.
Later.
