I personally have 3, a 1/2 helmet which I can't stand, and two 3/4 helmets. My husband has 2 helmets, a half and a full faced one.

I have 2.

HJC CS-10 full face for the cooler temps and long rides

AFX Motocross helmet for warmer temps and general use.

Why do I have two?

I ride a KLR650, and the MX helmet is far better for off-pavement use.

I (we) own about 6 helmets. Two are our (mine and my wife's) current Arai Freddie Spencer replica helmets which we bought to install audio speakers/receivers in. Our last two helmets before those were Arai Luca Cadalora replica helmets which we still own and are still serviceable, BUT kinda scruffy looking. One is my old Arai Kevin Schwantz replica full-face helmet, which could be repaired, but the face shield hinge mechanism is balky. And my last helmet is, of course, a Shoei dirt riding helmet, with visor and goggles slot.

If a guy who owns 9 motorcycles has to explain why he owns SIX helmets, some one is missing the point.....lol.

If you want a new helmet, GO FOR IT!

Spending a bunch of money on a new helmet is sure going to help with not having a job and not being able to afford a track day...

Yeah...

Not about the bling? I'm calling BS on this one

thanks for the answers so far.

but still can't find a justifiable reason for myself to get another helmet other than i want a better one.

i just bought a pirelli diablo corsa III rear tire and hoping to get a free front from their promo so i can't buy another helmet right away, maybe next month. just wondering why people have many helmets and maybe find a reason for myself to buy another one.

I bought two 1/2 helmets when I bought the bike, one for me, and a smaller size for potential passengers. I also bought a 3/4 hemet, with a shield for those colder days, shortly thereafter. With the onset of "Grandparenthood" I felt a little more protection was called for. So to be sure I had a better chance at being around for the long haul to harrass my daughter by spoiling the grandson, I bought a HJC CL-MAX. Which is currently waiting for parts so I can repair the visor mechanism, (It fell off of my seat and landed right on the faceshield hinge popping one of those teeny tiny parts into oblivion, and is now waiting to be replaced. The helmet was otherwise a great investment.)
