it's tight on that particular part... so i was just on 2nd gear. i only use up to 3rd gear on that canyon.
on ACH though... i can go up to 4th... and 5th on the long straights if i feel like gunning it.

Considering how slow he is riding I dare say he is nowhere near redline as the majority of the power is produced up there. There is also a lot more engine braking at higher revs which is probably better suited to his comfort zone.
No bike is happy running at redline for extended periods, but the occasional bounce off the rev-limiter shouldn't be a problem.
