Need a bike wheel boot - any help?

#1 Unread post by safety-boy »

Well, I needed it yesterday :-(

My beloved ZX-6R has fallen prey to the local chop gangs. Put the cover on around midnight, and at 6am, the bike was gone :x

I used to see a bolt to the floor wheel lock in British bike mags. Anyone know what these are called, or where to get one in the US?

Don't think of it as a stop light. Think of it as a chance-to-show-off light.

That sucks dude! My unlce just had his Tariler and Quad stolen from his driveway, during the day, when he was home....

Hope the police get some good leads....or your insurance has over valued your bike!

It is probably another color already with the VIN shaved off.

I hear that locally, the only bikes that don't get stolen are Harleys. When one does get stolen, the Harley riders find them. We have, I understand, a bit of a Hell's Angels presence in town.

Being a non-club rider, that is probably of little help to me :-)

I feel your pain, that sucks.

I believe you are thinking of a Ground Anchor. You should be able to get them at any motorcylce dealers/accessories store...

Thats real bad,Good luck with your claim and hope youre back on the road quickly. As for the locks you want,i think you mean ground anchors. These are made in the uk by quite a few firms.I dont know if any of these export to the us but some of the bigger ones are.....Oxford....Abus.....Kryptonite.Good luck with your search.xjrjohn

Sorry about the bike. :(

Here's a possible solution for a motorcycle anchor.

What kind of security precautions had you taken for your bike other than a cover?
