All my work. I took the picture and worked it in Photoshop.

How did you do it? I've been trying to perfect a way to turn photographs into paintings like this. I've been experimenting with changing the color palette and a few of the built-in filters but I haven't been able to come up with anything really good like that.

Nice work. I like the board track racer too. Thanks for sharing (and show us more!).

I did this in about 2 minutes, I'm using Paint Shop Pro and it's really a snap. Most of that time was used in cropping the picture and resizing it to make it a manageable size. It's a big file so it won't be up for too long, and it may take a while to load. If you have your browser set to auto re-size, do enlarge it so you can see the brush stroke details... really quite simple (not to take away from the beautiful job that Johnj did, I like his work better.) The picture I used was from our Oregon coast trip.

Not bad for a couple minutes time, bar. I do wonder how John got his so crisp with such well defined colors.

Hi Johnj,

Nice image!! :D

About uploading it in the Artwork gallery I can only guess but it is either:

A. The image needs to be under 200KB in size
B. The image needs to be smaller than 1600x1600 pixels.
C. The image needs to be a .jpg

If your image fits all 3, then it will work. If not, then PM me and I'll gladly help you. :D
