Time to be overly ambitious- Usergroup Tour 2007.

Hey guys-

There are two things that bring us together here. First our love of riding, and thus the TMW forums. Second, our passion for Honda's, hence our usergroup.

Now, as we all know, the Honda Usergroup is the real usergroup. The others think we just say that but it's true. I want to prove it in a way that blows the other guys, hell the whole forum, right out of the water.

I want to have a ride report of our ride around the country.

"Wait, you want to do what with our what now?"

Yep, a ride report of our trip through the country, in an unconventional sense. The idea would be for us to coordinate meeting and passing on a ride journal from one member to another. It's like passing the Olympic torch but obviously far more important.

The Plan.

The rider with the book will state where they are and how far they are willing to travel. Another forum member will match themselves up with that rider to meet them someplace and move the book further around the country.

Those two will meet at a halfway point, discuss their ride and add it to the ride journal along with a tidbit about each person. Maybe add a postcard, restaurant menu, or something small to the journal and then part ways.

The new book holder will return home to coordinate/plan the next leg of their trip then pass the book on to the next rider.

In the end the book will return to me and I'll post the ride here with any pictures/postcards etc that are included or sent to me via email.

In the end we will have vicariously met each other and ridden the whole USA.

Seeing as it's my idea. I'm near Washington DC and will ride up to 150 miles in any direction.

Also, seeing as we may have many members in one area that want to contribute, this can also be done as a team effort.

P.s.- any forays into Canada or Mexico are considered a plus and highly recommended to meet our fellow members there!

The Map so far
Red- travel line
Blue- each member
Black- a meeting spot

AWww! That sounds like a really fun deal :) Since my bike doesn't float and I'm not willing to swim 4000 miles, I'm gonna have to pass on this event. But I look forward to reading the adventures.

Great idea. I'll be heading to Colorado or possibly Oregon in late June if that helps. I can bring the book around to Canuckistan. We'll just need someone to bring it back...

Augusta, GA. Up to 150 miles works for me too ;p Scheduling it might be a little tricky with my full time work and school schedule, but I think it can be worked around.

i'm doing an iron butt around lake michigan this summer and i'll want a decent tune-up ride before that, i'd be willing to go 3-400 miles one way and make it an overnighter (depending on direction, obviously i'd rather go someplace scenic, a ride to sw iowa wouldn't be the most fun)

Since riding conditions are a bit more predictable to the south. I want to see if i can find a NC or SC rider, then pass it to Skel3tor1. I'll see if I can scrounge someone up. Sharpmagna- want to go south with me?

I live in Edmonton Alberta, and I'll go up to 1 full day in any direction as a gaurantee... about 500miles I guess.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
