vintage helmuts

#1 Unread post by uley »

So I know that most repro vintage helmuts are not DOT rated just seeing if anyone knows of any that are - or any good sites for cool looking helmuts - I know fashion is the least important thing - but still want to look - thanks

I Googled designer helmets and found this site. I think the Roof Boxer V is really cool.

None of those are DOT. Most are ECE approved which I suspect means that they would give you as much protection as DOT, but you could be ticketed in a state that requires a DOT helmet.

They look so cool, though, that I might get one just to ride here in Pennsylvania since, technically, I don't require a helmet because I have my MSF card.

I don't want to be a jerk, but did no one else tell him how to spell helmets?

Six months past by and some gravedigger has a problem with spelling on the first post of the thread.

:frusty:

BTW I just e-mailed my link about certification of the ROOF helmets.

I am less than pleased by the popularity of vintage helmets. Helmets, in my opinion, are a personal choice. Personally I prefer a full face Snell or DOT approved helmet. I think a helmet with crazy graphics would look silly on a bike.
