I just got a Virago 250 but need a windshield. I think I want something a little bigger than the Slipstreamer Spitfire, but don't know how much larger I can go. What is suggested? I'd like to keep my head from being buffeted. I'm 5'6" tall.
I was looking at Memphis Slims 17" or Memphis HellCat (I think) Also, does anyone have advice on the pros & Cons of handlebar mount versus fork mount?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

It's hard to know - how big is too big?
Right - that's what I understand. But how big is too big? Obviously too big is going to look silly on a small bike anyway . . . the Spitfire is only 15" high - would 17"x17" or so be fine? Will it keep the wind off my head, or only off my chest? I'm 5' 6".
I'm hoping other Virago owners will pipe up and let me know what windshield they have.

Protect head too, or just chest?
Did it direct wind over your head too, or did it just protect the body? How tall are you?Johnj wrote:I've used Spitfire windshields before and would again.

It directed the air off my chest and left my head in an updraft at speed. I don't recall any problem with the airflow around my head and that was before I got all helmetly and stuff. I had it mounted on a 1970 Triumph 650 that was stock more or less.
To this day I use short screens, my head is completely above the Tarrga on my Concours.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
