Yesterday I had my first experience driving in hard rain. I wear a full helmet and my visor kept fogging up. So i had to crack my visor open a bit to keep it clear but than I started getting rain inside. I've had issues with it fogging up before when driving in the early morning and i've tried anti fog spray and even soap and nothing seems to help to prevent it from fogging up. Anybody know of a good helmet or something I should try next time to keep in clear? I'm using a HJC helmet.

I know Scott makes some anti-fog wipes that work rather well from what I've heard. I know you can also get anti-fog shields for them but I'm not sure where. Make sure if you do get an anti-fog shield you don't use an anti-fog wipe on it.

I have yet to find any product that totally eliminates fogging on the shield on any of the full face helmets I have owned.

I leave my helmet visor cracked open about a finger's width all the time anyway. When it rains I only seem to get the odd drop in, must be the way I tilt my head into the windstream, I guess. The main point is I can always see.

There's no stopping condensation. However, I've found that leaving a vent or two open works well for my scorpion. You could always turn the AC on but leave the dash settings on hot

Same here, but using Cat Crap anti-fog works well to reduce it, as does shaving cream.

I use RainX anti-fog wipes on the inside on my visor and RainX regular on the outside.

The inside one doesn't work 100% on the anti-fog. I can say from several experiences that on the outside with the water-repellent - this improves conditions greatly.

But the wipes are really for a whole windshield of a car and kinda wasteful. But I keep them in my tail bag for easy access most times when I ride to work.

Although I gotta admit I like riding without any bags better when possible.

I think if you did a search on this forum, you'd find several conversations about this topic. Everyone has their favourite wipe or compound to use, but I've trie just about everyone mentioned and none of them work well or for very long. The product that I found to be most effective is a Pin-Lock Fog Shield. They have models to fit almost every style of helmet as well as predrilled and pinned shields. There are also models that glue in, I don't like them for obvious reasons...

I do wonder - do any of the anti-fog shields work? I was going to make this a factor in my next helmet purchase.

I found that the only ones that truly work have a second shield inside the main shield. They form a pocket of air that forms an insulating barrier, in the humid climate here on the west coast, I find these work great...
