Windshield options for 950 Vstar

#1 Unread post by CC Ryder »

I have been experiencing severe wind buffeting around my helmet as a result of the wind shield. I have tried a taller one but with no success. Riding with no wind shield at all, takes care of the buffeting but the force of the wind is too much for me especially riding long distances. One of the girls from the AMA suggested trying the Laminar Lip which I have ordered and am waiting for. Because the 950 Vstar is a new bike to the fleet there are not many after market options available yet. If this Laminar Lip does not work does anyone know of any other options. :frusty:

A friend of mine bought a 950 about 2 months ago. His windshield is about 18" at it's tallest point I know that. I measured it against mine which is the same height. I've got a 650 V* and that height windshield that works well for me. I wear a full face helmet.

Have you looked at the SPORTECH line of windshields.

That is what I opted for and they very in height up to 22 inches. I have the mid size one and get no buffeting. The 22 inch model should even be better.

Also, did you not have the Yamaha windshield installed on your V-Star 950 ?
