A guy just moved into my neighborhood who rides around every evening with ape hangers above his head and a 3 or 4 year old kid sitting in front of him. I want to take a baseball bat to him every time I see him.

my best friend's dad has apes on his roadking...he's more comfortable with his hands in front of his shoulders than the position he was in with the beach comber bars.

Why does it matter what bars people are riding with?

I have a friend with lower ape hangers, about 16 inches rise. He says they make his back feel better, even with his drivers back rest and allow him to take long rides still. I borrowed it and ran it through some MSF exercises. I had no issues doing the small box, turn, quick stop or turn.

They look stupid, but I haven't noticed a handling difference at least on the shorter ones.

Well Harley's Street Bob has low rise ape hangers, if it made the bike handle poorly I'm sure Harley wouldn't have went with it. I do admit that some choppers do look nice and of course the Easy Rider bikes did look pretty bad A55.

Wow that is crazy high  He must have no blood left in his finger tips!

Its a huge style thing here in Japan. A lot of teenagers here customize their bikes with ape hangers, lower ones..

I'm surprised that dude didn't fly off his bike. Well, if you can't go to the amusement park the amusement park comes to you.
