You all be careful out there

#1 Unread post by society909 »

I was taken out Monday by an old lady in a cage who probably shouldn't be driven anymore.
I was in the right lane when she turned off a side street on the right going the same direction as me. At first she crossed my lane and took the left lane going slow that was fine but when I started to pass her she suddenly switched lanes. I had no time to react. I smashed into her passenger door bounced off and hit a sign pole.
I was still awake when I landed. My first thought was at least I am still here. I was doing about 50 mph at impact
Most of the damage to both me and the bike was all on the left side. I have 5 broken toes 4 of them now have pins in them. 3 broken ribs that punctured a lung and bruised more of the lung. A broken collar bone and lots of road rash. I had surgery on Tuesday I just got home today. I think the collar bone is getting worse the doctors have me using a walker because I can't put weight on my foot but the walker is putting a lot of pressure on the collar bone. My left arm seams to keep getting weaker I am pretty sore.
My bike is a mess the windshield is pieces the speedometer is hanging where the front turning signal use to be the left crash bar is bent into the shift lever. The foot peg is bent up against the side of the engine. The gas tank has some major dents in it I think its totaled. I am glad I had my full face helmet on it took a lot of damage that would of been my head. Thanks to a couple of bikers who stopped at the crash site they went home got their trailer and took the bike home for me. I keep telling myself it could of been worse at least I am alive.

Total drag. I hope you recover well, both body and mind, and in a month or two be back on the road, riding like nothing happened.

so sorry to hear about the accident. Sounds like you took some serious damage, and I hope you are getting better daily. I'm still recovering from my july accident - still not walking. One day at a time friend, take it slow and easy, pause and just breathe.

hang in there!

still recovering - back to crutches, then walking with a stick, then running - then hopefully riding again!

Prayers are with you, dude.

Be careful with the pain pills, they can cause a serious situation of constipation. I am not joking. Plenty of water might help if it happens to you.
