Hello Jeff, and welcome to the forum. The same sized tire should work, or check the owners manual to get the size. Speed rating is how fast you can go safely??? Most likely over 100 mph (160kph) will get it. If your planing to run in a Bubblegum Rally you may need to go higher.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Yup, what JohnJ said.

Your stock front tire is a 130/90 - 16.
That means it's 130 mm wide, it's 90% of 130mm tall, and it fits a 16 inch wheel.

Get a speed rating of R or S (106 or 112 MPH). The speed rating on the tire is how fast the tire is designed to travel for extended periods. Most cruiser size and style tires have those speed ratings.

No problem.

A little advice on tires, if you're happy with your current tires, stick with the same manufacturer and model as the rear. If not, stick to the same manufacturer, but change the model.

Or try something new. I decided to take a pair of bargain tires for a spin, with interesting results. Somehow, the cheap Shinko tire on the front is wearing longer than the Dunlop tires I'd been getting. On the other hand, the Shinko on the back wore out faster than the Dunlop. Drives my mechanic crazy that I'm riding on mismatched tires :)

That's because different tire companies use different rubber formulations, carcass stiffnesses, etc to get their grip. When you mix and match them, it screws up the handling of the bike on more performance oriented bikes.

Mine is far from a performance bike. More like an easy chair with handlebars.
