It is always a nice feeling to talk about a bike build done by someone who is relatively new in the business. Featuring and talking about their builds is always fascinating to write about. It means that this BMW R80 Cafe Racer by ROA Motorcycles with its clean retro lines and visibly good build quality is a perfect way to start of the day. Now, ROA Motorcycle came into existence only in 2014. In these three years, the Spanish company as build eighteen builds already. This is a pretty decent number for any new company and also signals that its customers have been satisfied with the work the blokes have done over there.
Now coming to the bike, this BMW R80 Cafe Racer by ROA Motorcycles called the ROA #16, is a simple build done with an attention to detail. It seems to be a good mixture of two famous custom build design forms, Cafe Racer and Scrambler. To get to the simple design form, ROA Motorcycles crafted an all new subframe that lends a smooth flow to the iconic lines of the R80. This new sub-frame holds a custom brown faux-suede leather seat.
The Cafe Racer appeal arrives with the use of low set clip-on handlebars and a minimalistic design of the speedometer that comes from T&T only takes it further. ROA left the tank stock, which is a good thing as the tank design is still an attention grabber, even after all these years. The tank has been repainted in a shade of a high-gloss navy blue that gels well with the matt black contrast of the general switchgear and the brown of the hand grips. Going towards the posterior of the custom build, the licence plate holder also features a floating LED Stop light.
