It’s a good idea to ride with a cam in case something happens even if you never publish the footage. I’m also going to do a lot of riding in the forests of central Ontario so I’m hoping to film some wildlife. Just started doing this and came up with a setup for under $200. I like the GoPro ecause it allows me to change batteries and keep filming. If you have your own tips please share:

Thanks. Stay tuned, I’ll be in the Algonquin area the whole summer and I’ll be sure to explore that whole area. It’s awesome to be able to bring my rides to others, whether in the same city or on the other side of the world.

I have an old GoPro HD Hero that I use sometimes. I use the stick-on mount to secure it on my dirtbike helmet.

We film with chin-mounted GoPRO Hero 4's, because they offer easy mic support. A $12 third party adapter and an $8 lavalier mic is all you need and you've got in-helmet audio.

For mounting, I like the chin mounts by MotoRadds. With other GoPRO mounts, you end up with ridiculous, convoluted angles and armatures. The MotoRadds just put the camera right out front, nice and simple and secure. A little Sugru to attach the mic adapter permanently to the camera case and you've got a tight, compact setup.

I currently use a Sena Prism Tube on my helmet (previously Contour ROAM 2) but it can't be mounted far enough forward to keep the helmet entirely out of the frame. That said, I have also sometimes run the Contour on a handlebar RAM mount with acceptable results which I note to https://digital-planner.com/productivity/planner/dark
