1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad mileage question

#1 Unread post by s7allen »

Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad that has 70,000 miles on it. I'm not very familiar with the brand or how long of mileage these bikes typically get. It seems to be a respected model of bike and this unit seems well cared for. I'm just not sure if it's on its last legs of life. Any suggestions or pointers of things to look out for? Thanks!

Thanks for the question Scott!

70k is a little steep for most any bike, but a big tourer like the Nomad is a solid, dependable bike if it's been well cared for. It's almost a "Catch 22", if it's been ridden that may miles it almost HAS to have been well taken care of.

That said, prices should be pretty consistent in that segment. I don't imagine you'd have to spend much more to get something newer and with less miles.
