MPG 2002 Triumph Bonneville 790cc

#65 Unread post by peeler326 »

YEAR: 2002
MAKE: Triumph
MODEL: Bonneville
Average US MPG (City/Highway if known[/i]): 37
Average L/100km (City/Highway if known): 6.4 L/100km
Fuel Capacity (US Gal/Litres if known): 4.2 gal. (15.9L)
Engine Size/Cylinders: 790cc / 2
Source: (Manufacturer/Magazine/Personal) Personal

The fuel/exhaust system is not 100% stock, which of course, does affect my mileage:
D & D Free Flow Exhaust
Air Injection removed
Air Intake Horn removed
Stock carb Jetting (110 mains, 40 pilot jets)
Triumph Thruxton needles installed in the carb slides - this needle is more tapered and slightly longer than the original Bonneville standard needle. This results in a richer mixture, lowering my mileage of course.

Highway mileage is calculated at an average speed of 70-75 mph. I could probably get a better rating if I slowed down!

Going to be hard to make accurate. There's old farts like me that just cruise down the road and get decent milage on a big lumbering bike and then there are the rest of you kids that screem down the highway trying to get to point "B" asap, and get crummy milage.
