Tall Beginner

#1 Unread post by housola »

Hello,
I'm nearly 6'6 and 220 lbs, and im fairly new to riding. I've driven a couple of dirt bikes, and my buddies ninja 500r a couple of times...I've signed up for a local MSF course and will be getting more practice on my own with my friend and his zx-6r...I'm really stuck on which bike to get and was leaning towards the R6...My mind is far from made up and i was just looking for some advice...Thanks

My advice is to take the MSF course before you do any serious bike shopping, and definitely before you buy.

First, read the stickies at the top of the Newbies forum, especially -this one-.

Second, :welcome: . You've found a great place for a beginner, stick around and you might like it. :)
Glad to hear you're taking the MSF course, it's a great place to learn the basics.

So, you want a 120+ HP bike for your first bike..?
If i was you I would get something like a Ninja 500 or 650R
Keep it for 6 months, THEN step up to the big dogs like a R6
Or just buy a 599 hornet, or an Fz6, or Bandit 650..
