I little bit of background before I pop my question. Last year I had a car and my scooter, so when it was raining I never rode, I used to take my car. Now... I have replaced both my car and the scooter for a motorcycle.

The raining season is coming soon where I'm leaving, and I still don't have a rain suit, but that's not my question, because that is not my main concern. For the ones of you who ride for commuting... what do you do with your bike when it's raining... do you just leave it out there in the rain the 8 hours that you are at work...? do you cover it...? do you leave it home for the whole raining season...? do you have a covered place where you leave it when is raining?

My bike lives outside in a parking lot. If it rains, it gets wet.

After riding in the rain a couple of times...a rain suit will become your main concern...you wont believe how friggin wet you can get.

Always apologize to your bike we she gets rained on...then give her a hug.

........ and how cold you can get. Even on a warm day.

As far as the bike goes, they don't melt. Unless the electrics are poorly shielded, it should be fine.

I live on 10 acres, no garage, no cover. Had to clean bird poop off my seat the other day before I rode.

Bike is still very happy. I do have to clean my chain more than some others probably do tho. <shrug>

Of course, I don't wash my vehicles either, unless I can't remember what color they are.

Covers are not too expensive, but I suppose it all depends on how much character you want your bike to have.

I leave mine outside all day rain or shine, no cover.

Only thing I do is carry a chamois in my back pack to give the bike and bike seat the quick once over before I jump on.

I find riding in the rain my brake light and indicators can get quite dirty so I wipe them over with the chamois as well.



As for a full wet weather suit, ya dont need it, I just wear a pair of plastic pants that fold up to nothing that live in my back pack as well, my jacket and boots are already waterproof.

My Leather, Gloves and Boots are waterproof unless I am spending more than a couple of hours in a downpour

The bikes itself? I wish I could say I took care of bike, wiped it down, make sure that it is nice and dry but I don't.

That is the reason I boiught a Honda rather than a Suzuki though.

Hey guys... thank you all for the input. My concern wasn't myself... like getting wet or cold... it was the bike.

Still, I'll try to find a place to leave it so it doesn't get rain on all day long.

It is not possible for me to keep at home. So that is why i am using good quality cover so my bike will not get affected.
