You need gloves that protect your hands. If you domicile in the southern parts of Florida all you need is light gloves. if you live in the Great White North you will need some heated gauntlets.

I made sure I bought ones with the gel pads in them. My chopper has quite a large cc engine and makes a LOT of vibrations. Have to wear gel pads or I can't feel my hand after awhile. lol

I like Fox Creek. Comfortable, flexible, very heavy-weight leather. Impact resistance isn't nearly as good as the armored gauntlets you'll get from Cycle Gear, but the abrasion resistance is superb.

That said, I wear fingerless gloves in the summer in Phoenix. Easier to keep my nose clean that way.
