Yes I think Honda CB 350 is HOT

Funny Story:

I go to buy red motorbike. I buy it. I ride it home about 30 miles. I am thinking "Damn I so cool on my new motorbike"
(for story here is photo then)
Image
see grocery basket and crash bar...
I'm riding
I'm cool
i dont have license plate
i'm still cool
so i stop at light and I see dude in pickup truck stop next to me. he has 3 stupid kid in truck with him.
They are checking out motorbike
I give them "the nod" like yeah cool huh
Then redneck...i mean dude yells at me "Is that a boys bike or a girls bike!?!"
I just smile and send deathray with my eyes.
light turns green.
I just go.

Don't worry about it. After all, you're still riding, and he's trapped in a cage with 3 stupid kids......

Two nice classic bikes, BTW. That scrambler looks too nice to chop up, find a piece of krap for your project bike........

I like that 350 scrambler as well.

Question: Do you talk like that on purpose? Or are you of a different nationality?

I like Green

HAHA yes green motorbike looks good in photograph.

Both my motorbike are very photogenic.

Red and white motorbike is all original I am thinking, and everything works good.

Green motorbike has problems and has wrong parts:
Tank is CB tank not CL
Brake light only works with rear brake
headlight lo-beam doesn't work.
If you turn handle bars far left engine races.
Carbs LEAK if fuel left on.
ect.......

These are the things I know when I buy Green motorbike.

OK.... So here is story of riding Green motorbike home after buying:
Image

I will keep short. I hate typing!
25 miles to get home
So I know lo-beam is broke... I ride away...I turn on hi-beam so people see motorbike coming.
so I'm riding
I'm cool
i dont have license plate
i'm still cool
I ride less than mile and going downhill 40mph motorbike stalls.
I pull off at bottom of hill and try to start motorbike
(not so cool)
Lights off - electric start cranks but wont start
I kick
I kick
i kick
I k i c k.......I so tired now.
I think.......thinking hmmmmm. I think lots of things... too many to type...
Maybe gas is old and too low. there is gas station up small hill.....
I push motorbike up to gas station and fill up.
still electric start doesn't work....
I kick and kick....no start
no start at gas station is worse than side of road.
OK all or nothing...................
I push motorbike down hill....... pop clutch.......and YES!!! Motorbike starts!!!
I'm cool again
I'm riding...
Story is getting too long for me (and not enough photo)

So 10 miles from home:
There is Bad sound....and funny feeling.......
HMMMMMM......
Still riding, still cool....i think
whenever I stop I have to use both brake...only rear works brake light.
I go to stop...back brake pedal is STUCK...
I pull off road again.....
Bolt that holds rear brake stopper arm came out!
hub spun and bent brake arm and connecting rod...Not cool
Image
Image
(I need to buy new rear brake arm..do you have one for sale?)

So I am like james Bond and use key ring to attach parts so I can ride home front brake only...(I check front brake out GOOD before I go)

BLAH BLAH BLAH

I make it home...

End of story is: Green motorbike IS piece of krap for my project bike.

I have headache and tired...I go to sleep now :frusty:

Finally, the time has come!

I had my friend take photo-documentation of tear down, but he is artist.... His photos were mostly useless.

The Tear down:
"Hey don't take my photo"
Image

No exhaust
Image

Coming apart fast and easy..... Motorbike is in OK condition... Carpy would say its a little snotty here and there... frame has some rust. Wiring harness has been tampered with.

No airboxes or battery boxes
Image

Hard to see but...No more handle bars
Image

Ok.... At this point I drink about 10 Pabst Blue Ribbon, so when I take gas tank off I spill lots of gas!
Image

Due to fumes and beer I pass out on floor of garage.....

Next morning I wake up. I make custom seat out of cardboard.
Image
Image

OK now we get to fun stuff... wheelie time
Image

Kickstand and footrests are off
Image
Image

Carbs are off
Image

Well this is where it sits now...
This weekend I hope engine come out, rear wheel and trailing arm too...
oh yeah...triple trees come out too...

I will keep updated!

Nice 350s. I just moved to Lansing from Detroit within the last year, and I visit Detroit often to see friends. PM me if you want to go for a ride some time.

I have one too:

Image

I bought it to turn it into a cafe racer, but it's my only vehicle right now, so that will have to wait....too many other projects.
