wow...i feel like a fool for not posting this one a while back-
this was back in the early days...............

Sick Boy

Sick-boy, in his faded blue jeans,
Sick-boy, black leather jacket scene.
Sick-boy, he's always in trouble With the law
don't ya know...

Sick-boy, he carries a switch blade knife
Sick-boy, likes to get into fights.
Sick-boy, he'll go drinkin' With the boys
all night long.

Sick-boy, rides a big motorbike,
Sick-boy, combs his hair up just right.
Sick-boy, with tattoos up and Down his arms
don't ya know...

Sick-boy, he's got a girl wrapped around his arm,
Sick-boy, with his street-like charm.
Sick-boy, he'll make love to her All night long,
don't ya know...

I am so excited that i'll be going to the Social D. concert this Sunday.
I tried to get tickets to Saturday's shows, but due to commitments at work, it wont happen.
i was mentioning to another TMW member, that last year, i saw Social D here in Chicago on probably the greatest weekend of my Chicago life ( 9 years). That was the weekend i took my MSF class!
Friday- i was so ready to focus on my riding and passing that test. A very nice ( and attractive lady) was being friendly to me and looking back on it, i brushed her off- i was that focused! So after some videos and such, Friday was done.
Sat- The day started out cold and gloomy- more videos and then, finally, on the MCs!!!! That cute young lady said "hello" to me and asked if i spoke spanish. She was from MN and had blue eyes and blond hair. She told me she rode a sportsbike, but wanted to learn how to ride the "right way". Then, she starts speaking to me in Spanish! Told me that she was in Spain in May for a Rockabilly concert, which happens to the ssame festival i went to back in May. what a small world, but once we were on the MC's it was focus time! It was the 1st time i was on a MC and i was nervous about engaging the friction zone and stalling out. It rained hard that day and i got my 1st taste of riding inthe rain. I was pretty comfortable, but froze the rest of the day!
Sunday- took a warm up ride on the MC and to my surprise, it was Test time!.. emergency breaking, the figure 8 and some other tests. Only missed 1 point, but i aced the riding portion! Took thr writen and i only missed 1 also! In Illinois, you pass your MSF class, you get your license! I had an M Class certification! I was excited...now, after my class, run home, shower and get the pompadour ready cause it was Social D time at the House of Blues in downtown Chicago.

Got downtown and i was so stoked! People, music, smoke...i loved it..reminded me of being younger and having the world by the balls...
now at age 32, i had responsibility, director of one of the most respected health agencies in the world, but for one night.......it was great to feell that magic that only youth can bring. Met a young lady there, who happened to be from So. Cal, just like me! We were similar age and we knew similar people. It was so wonderful just to get a little piece of So. Cal here in Chicago. The night was over, i sang my fav songs, met a So. Cal local and i had my MSF cert! the best 3 days of 2005 and my time here in Chicago!
This Sunday, i will enjoy that same moment again, as Mike Ness, lead singer of Social D. will welcome the crowd-young kids, old schoolers, pompadours, tattoos, pomaide in guy's hair, ladies looking very Burlesque- its the punk scene! For 3 hours, i'll remember all of the good times back in So. Cal and be able to reflect on my new life here in Chicago.
Social Distortion is my most fav. band, more than just thier music, but more for what they represented and how they reminded us that everyone dies, but not everyone lives................

this one's for my intern from Iowa- so innocent, so trusting- she has hope and faith in people and beleives that people are good.
i faintly remember those days.....

Through these Eyes
Through these eyes I've seen love and I've seen hate
I've seen the violence and the tears
Through these eyes, I got my schooling on the streets
I've seen the things in life You don't wanna see

Through these eyes I've seen the shape of things to come
And I've watched them all fall apart
Through these eyes I've seen the broken homes, they cry
I've seen the poor man's face As he stands in line

And though my heart has made me weary
On a road less travelled on
Through the heart it hurts so dearly
And the pain it lingers on

Through these eyes, I've looked the devil in the face
And I've seen God's holy grace
Through these eyes I've tried to walk the straighter line
I found myself again But nearly lost my mind

And though my heart has made me weary
On a road less travelled on
Through the heart it hurts so dearly
And the pain it lingers on

Bad Luck

Some people like to gamble,
But you, you always lose.
Some people like to rock 'n' roll,
you're always singin' the blues

You gotta nasty disposition,
No one really knows the reason why,
You gotta bad, bad reputation,
Gonna hang your head down and cry...

Thirteen's my lucky number,
To you it means stay inside.
Black cat done crossed my path,
No reason to run and hide.

You're looking through a cracked mirror,
No one really knows the reason why.
Your enemies are gettin' nearer,
Gonna hang down your head and cry...

Some people go to church on Sundays,
others they pray at home.
You tell them that there ain't no God,
that they're better off standin' alone.

You're always scratchin' at the eight ball,
No one really knows the reason why.
You get to the top and then you fall,
Gonna hang down your head and cry.

Misery Loves Company

I used to roam all night long
I lurked the streets late at night
I ain't never comin' home
But loneliness
Is part of the game
And misery loves company

I used to think that I was a king
Fancy cars, fancy clothes and diamond rings
Yeah but happiness is a funny thing
And misery just loves company

Don't even try to understand
What goes on inside this man
As a boy I used to dream
Cuz' sometimes life ain't what it seems

We used to dance under moonlight
But then the tears began to fall
And baby that ain't right
Cuz' losin' you
Was part of the game
And misery loves company

Cuz' f'n' up
Was part of the game

And misery loves company

Its been a while, but i've been adding some iles to my 650 Classic.
I'm getting ready to my Ape Hanger handlbars and i've gutted my pipes to make them so loud, that you'll be able to hear them tomorrow....ha ha
I was able to make a ride from Chicago to St. Louis to see Social Distortion back in April/May and it was a great show!
Hoping to fly back out tot the West Coast to see family and them as they play in CA for the most part of November and December..
this one's dedicate to all of us who didn't make the best choices in life....

Prison Bound
Well, I'm goin' to a place where the tough guys go
And come out even tougher
A place where a man don't show his feelings
A place where a man don't cry

Well, they say I'm bein' punished
And they say I can be reformed
But some day I'll return
Did they really think that
This time it would work

You knew all along it wouldn't...

[Chorus]
Oh, I'm prison bound
I did a crime one too many times
It's on the outskirts of town, by the railroad tracks
Where the country moon shines
Oh, I'm prison bound
Tell my girl I'll be back one day
Oh, I'm prison bound
I may never know any other way

Well, they take away my freedom of expression or action
Johnny says I'll walk the line
With three hots and a cot
And a lot of talk
With lock-up, concrete, and steel

Well it's cold and it's clammy
Man, it's colder than a pimp's heart
But I've gotta do my time
There's a lesson to be learned here
But what a price to pay

You know I may never learn-

So I still love Social Distortion- IN fact, they'll be in the Midwest at the end of the month.
I took a trip to Los Angeles and heard a band that blew me away.

If you get a chance, take a listen....they are something special...

Highlights- Dreaming of you and Use Me....
I met them a few times and they are such cool young musicians.....

For those LOVE and ROCKETS fans, by now, you know there will be a tribute album- WAR TAPES play a great classic cover- LOVE ME.
Check out the July 6th Flash replay of the preview- They're the 1st band thats gets highlighted playing that song!
