LEESBURG -- It's 11 feet, 3 inches tall, and 20 feet, 4 inches long.

Its two tires are 74 inches high and 36 inches wide. It weighs 6,500 pounds.

It's a monster of a motorcycle.

Nicknamed "The Monster" by its owner, the big bike will be one of the attractions at Leesburg Bikefest, which begins today and continues through Sunday.

About 150,000 motorcycle fans are expected for the ninth annual festival that features a number of live concerts, contests and bike rides.

"We are expecting the largest turnout that we have ever had," said Joe Shipes, executive vice president of Leesburg Partnership, which is promoting the event. "We feel like we are going to meet all expectations."

About 200 vendors, ranging from food to leather to motorcycle parts, will be set up in the downtown area. Vendors will close at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday.

A number of downtown streets will be closed during the festival.

Visitors can find The Monster motorcycle at the Gator Harley-Davidson stage, said owner Gregory Dunham, 48, of Stockton, Calif.

"People just stop on the road [to see it]," he said. "It's just amazing. They're just fascinated."

Dunham said The Monster won third place in this year's Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show in Daytona Beach. But he isn't entered in the bike show this weekend. Bikes will be judged Saturday at Third and Main streets.

The bike show is one of a number of events scheduled for the weekend.

Jerry "Motorman" Palladino, the producer of the Ride Like a Pro video series, will demonstrate techniques during nine shows over the three days. All shows are at Fifth and Main streets.

Miss Hawaiian Tropic International will present the Ninth Annual Ms. Leesburg Bikefest from 8-10 p.m. today at the Gator Harley-Davidson stage. Thirteen contestants will compete in swimwear, bikewear and bike poses for the title and cash prize.

Registration for the 134-mile poker run, sponsored by Lake's chapter of American Bikers Aimed Towards Education, will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday next to the main information tent next to Tropicana Theater.

Trials rider Adam Holbrook will demonstrate extreme-terrain riding Saturday and Sunday at Main and Canal streets.

Drill team demonstrations of precision riding will take place Saturday and Sunday at Magnolia and Fourth streets.

Biker games, which will include the tennis ball drop, water balloons, bean bag toss, slow race and blindfold ride, will be at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. All biker games will be at Main and Canal streets.

The Sunday morning biker service and bike blessing will be from 8-11 a.m. at Main and Canal streets. A free continental breakfast will be from 8-9:30 a.m. followed by the service from 9:30-10 a.m. The bike blessing will be from 10-11 a.m.

Leesburg Bikefest ends at 5 p.m. Sunday.
