what do you mean? :dontgetit:
2012 Triumph Daytona 675 - US Specifications/Technical Details

Engine and Transmission
Type Liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder
Capacity 675cc
Wet Weight (ready to ride) 185 kg (407 lbs)
Performance (measured at crankshaft to 95/1/EC)
Maximum Power 125PS / 124bhp / 92 kW @ 12600rpm
Maximum Torque 72Nm / 53 ft.lbs @ 11700rpm

2012 Honda CBR600RR - US Specifications

Engine Type: 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder
Curb Weight*: 410 pounds (CBR600RR)

No Hp rating for the Honda, but it is 118Hp ish...weight is similar (Triumph is 3lbs lighter), but the 6Hp advantage and a torque advantage throughout the rev range...it's just a more refined machine...and I think the Triumph looks and sounds better...personal opinion of course...

But I'm sure you will have a totally different take on it...I'm not a sport bike rider, so I am only going by what is available on a spec sheet...so take it as you will...(I thought the Hp advantage was more...)

Later.

I still do not understand what you are trying to say here.... :boat:
A 675cc engine produces 6 more HP than a 599cc engine. A bigger engine produces more horsepower, no surprise there. The delta however is not as much a would be expected from the displacement increase. So the fact is, the Honda 599cc engine is obviously lot more efficient at making HP than the Triumph 675cc engine...

Not to slight anyone's ride but just about any of the 600s look interchangeable with the next one. They ALL have such derivative styling that it is difficult to remember who did what first as they are all so damned similar. When it comes to the trumpet however, the engine is unique and the frame sets it apart from the rest of the bikes in this class. For me at least a few hp here or there will not make the difference on the street. Most Supersports don't really do it for me anymore but I gotta give this one "awesome" 'cause if I was going to buy one - this would be it.

No matter which one you ride, eventually some dude at some gas station will call yours a "Ninja". :frusty:

Yep - didn't think of THAT one as a "600 class machine" but you're right: the AMA does. It would be a nice bike if I had a racetrack 5 minutes from my house (I guess that I did - but it just permanently closed  ).

It was hardly "their" automotive production, Triumph Motor Company having sold the motorcycle operation in 1936. From that point on, Triumph Motor Company (cars) and Triumph Engineering Co Ltd (motorcycles) were separate. The great classic Triumph sport cars and motorcycles of 1950's were made by two completely separate companies, sharing only the Triumph name.

Oh, I didn't know that, I thought the two were the same company. I have learned something new today. :D

I am sure that this bike will perform well & probably sell well too in the sportsbike market. However, I personally don't like the look (even if it is a Triumph)! To me it seems daft that Triumph have produced a model that looks Japanese.

I haven't seen or heard one "in the flesh" yet, so maybe my opinion will change when I do.

Unfortunately at the first look my vote is uncool.
