Ear rings

#1 Unread post by Hondagirl »

Anyone have any tricks?
Do you take them out before putting your helmet on or just hold them as you pull the helmet on. I find rings are possible but studs are hopeless, they fall right off every time.

I don't wear ear rings on a daily basis soooo, no worries there. If they are uncomfortable or unstable while riding, go ahead and take them off and put them back in when you get to your destination.

I have 7 ear piercings and tend to only have problems with any long earings. I usually just take them out and put them in my pocket for the ride.

Me, too. I don't wear earrings for riding...unless I put a bandana on and it covers my ears so the helmet can go on without snagging the earrings.

Yeah I take them out and put them in a pocket. I have gotten a loop snagged in the inside fabric of the helmet and it almost ripped my ear hole so trying to be more careful..

One reason I started wearing a buff (www.buffusa.com you've got to watch the how to wear video, its a riot!) was because I"ve got 3 piercings.

The bonus is my helmet stays nicer inside because I can wash the buffs.

I've got about 10 different prints, several made of CoolMax fabric. I've seen them at REI stores and some motorcycle shops.

Earrings - No

In addition to not wearing my earrings under my helmet, I also skip the hair gel and makeup if I know I'm going for a ride. To coin a phrase, it's "al natural" on weekends for me. 8)

I have 11 ear piercings and wear all my earrings all the time (except the bottom pair comes out a night and for showering). I just make sure that I'm using my thumbs to pull apart the padding of my helmet near the ears. If I notice any poking in my neck, I just reach in and make an adjustment. For some reason it hasn't been a problem for me.

Cheers,
Loonette
