Well, the things we do in our youth...MaeBe43 wrote:I suppose it's the courteous thing to clear the air (since I brought it up). Being a bartender for over 20 years now I learned that there's a thin line to walk between everyone expecting you to be a part of the constant party and keeping the party going. Back in 1990 I hadn't learned this yet however and got 2 DUI's (in 40 days) Alabama Slammers taste just like Hawaiian Punch if they're made right. The situation at the border turned into quite a story that is actually pretty dandy looking back on it, but because of the above mentioned "record" I was told I should assume I didn't need to come back again. I'm actually the only one of three born here in the US. My sister and brother (and mother) are all born in Canada and my father is from Sweden.
I will add that the ONLY thing that makes me smile EVERYTIME I get on it is my motorcycle.
LOL that's hilarious! Mike & I used to go into this quaint pub in London called the Nag's Head and they actually have a sign at the door that says "All mobiles must be switched off." And they WILL kick you out if you're caught with one on!!!MaeBe43 wrote:In the bar where I work I've started telling new customers when they come in and the first thing they do is start texting, "no cell phones allowed in here, we're here to socialize". The deer in the headlight look before they realize I'm kidding (sort of) is priceless.
