My son is currently away from home at this time. He owns a 2003 honda RVT1000. He loves this bike so much that he once said (joking),
mom i would rather break my bones than break my bike... Now this is the problem, I was taking bags out of my trunk & as I walked by one
of the handles must of got caught on it & it fell over. OMG!!!! So i called Honda dealership & they came out & quoted me a price of over $2000. NOT EVEN A CHANCE despite if i could i would. Do you think if i tried to order parts myself online it would be cheaper? Or are there
motorcycle junkyards? Any advise, tips or suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Can you give us a clue of what actually is broken? Plastic fairings can be repaired instead of replaced, if the damage isn't too bad. Some fairing repairs are do-it-yourself, with a kit easily purchased on the internet. Replacement fairings can be insanely expensive, so there's a lot of info out there about repairing them. Google "motorcycle fairing repair" - you'll find kits, how-to instructions and videos, etc.

What else is broken? BikeBandit is one of the biggest internet retailers of motorcycle parts. Internet retailers are generally a bit cheaper than going through a dealer. (By the way, the RVT1000R is also known under the designations RC51 or VTR1000, so you can search for parts under those names.) Hard to figure repairs from a simple stationary tip-over would cost over $2000, unless you went with a dealer doing all the work, using OEM parts and quoting rates straight "by the book".

(This why a lot of us do a lot of work on our bikes ourselves, BTW)

By the way, don't feel too, too bad about this. Bikes fall over. (Especially when one gets off them without putting down the side stand. DAMHIK. ) Your son's isn't the first. We fix them again. Life goes on.

I also agree with Jstark, don't feel too badly as tipping a bike over is not that difficult to do...
