First Accident

#1 Unread post by Rebeccaatthewell » Fri Sep 09, 2005 1:52 pm

I just had my first and hopefully last wreck today. A lady pulled out in front of me and due to traffic there was nowhere to go but down. Bike sustained hopefully minor damage and no broken bones!! God Loves Me :) I am going to hurt for a few days, but I walked away and therefore it is a GOOD DAY!!! My helmet saved my head but especially my full face shild saved my face because I slid down the highway on the side of my helmet at road level.... hummm, I should have had a camera :)

Sorry to bother you, ladies, but I just wanted to wish Rebecca a fast recovery. Please get back on that bike as soon as it's fixed!

Thank you ZT. I am not sure how bad the bike is, but the Lady's insurance should cover it to be fixed if possible :)

I am so sorry that happened to you! I'm glad you're only sore and nothing worse.

Good to hear you are alright...that's the #1 priority. Sore & stiff will certainly go away thank goodness. Hope you are still in positive spirits and that your bike will be good to go in no time.

Take care.

There is a positive side to this....with the insurance money for your bike and for pain and suffering you can now get a blue bike.

Glad you're ok.

You know it Strad! I will be investing in some good chaps as soon as I get the bike and me fixed :) My knees are burned pretty good and one elbow where my jacket came off one arm. One hand is in a splint because they think I snapped a tendon in the back of my hand, but I don't know how bad the bike is until someone who knows what they are doing looks at it :) But I will be back on the road someday .:D

What an awesome photo. Did you take it yourself?? I am getting better everyday. My knees and elbow still burn a lot and I have a pinched nerve in my hand because of the swelling, but otherwise I am doing GREAT. Of course I think very highly of codine!! :D

One of the advantages of living in Africa, I have the worlds oldest camera I think, a Canon AE1 manual with power winder and some really BIG lenses, I am too thick to go digital. Zootech taught me how to post on the site. Glad it made you feel better. Add some essential fish oils to the codeine and you will heal as well as you feel. As for Zoo, ours are wild, man, no free feeds for these guys.

Thanks Loonette,
I find it odd that strained muscles show up a week later, but over all I am getting better and not hurting and taking pain medication all the time anymore. :)
B

I find out from the insurance adjustor this week how much if will cost to fix the bike from the driver of the car's insurance company. Hummmm, I wonder If I should menchin that because of the pavement dinging it up if I could get it painted blue LOL!!!

I've only had one acciendent i was 19, i was riding home from work and the roads where a wet which doesnt concern me because i'm a good rider, so im on my way home and this dumba** in a 4x4 come speeding down my right side and clips my back wheel which sent the bike to the floor and me trapped underneath it while it slid a good 60 70 m down the road. Broke 2 ribs and my collar bone
