shopping

#1 Unread post by HeathersWheels »

This is my first season of riding so I dont have closets of gear. But I have learned a thing about shopping for gear. Gear is the one thing Steve and I shop together for. He refuses to shop with me for anything else. We have opposite shopping techniques. But riding gear seems to bring us together for shopping. I suppose gear shopping is a good way to have together time.

I got a First Gear Kilimanjaro Jacket. I had to have one of those head sock thingies to keep my head, neck, and face warm. I have to stay warm. I bought a half helmet with a full face shield. I've already decided I need to shop for another helmet. I like being out in the wind, but I dont like it wooshing around under my face shield.

Some of you forum girls seem pretty spicey and racey. I'm not sure if this ol lady is ready for leather pants. My eyes are looking at some chaps though.

Shopping for gear is one of the only good shopping experiences for me and "Scan" as well. We could spend hours trying on things we'll never buy and talking about the benefits of this or that. It's fun.

Hey - you're in Modesto, eh? We used to live in Sacramento, and at the time (1996 - 1998) there was a weather guy on one of our local stations who would get all jacked up when mentioning the temps in Modesto. He would call it "Moooooooooodesto", just like a crazy cow! Strange world...

Cheers,
Loonette
