2011 AMA Superbike

#1 Unread post by QuietMonkey »

Here comes the AMA race season... starting with Daytona!

2011 AMA Superbike - Team Kawi - On The Road to Daytona introduces team-mates Eric Bostom and JD Beach...

It'll be good to see both Bostrom's out there, and another guy I want to see, Canadian Chris Peris, has signed up for another season with Iron Horse BMW as well.

And although our Canadian Superbike series has gone Eastern Canada only this year, another (very) fast guy, Brett McCormick, will head the BMW Canada team over here, and Jordon Szoke is back with Kawi Canada, so at least there should be some hard fighting between those two on this side of the border. Maybe those guys will find the budget to hop to the USA occassionally. The Canadian-spec bikes will be more on par with the US bikes if they do make it down south for some more competitive racing.

Round 1 - Daytona ----- started us off with Superbike mayhem, then proceeded to a Daytona 200 littered with action, and a tire fiasco which helped fuel a ridiculous scenario... 10 minute delay, because a LOT LONGER and more bafoonery ensued...

"new rule - today only! Blow a motor on your Ducati lately? Then, hey, dont let that get ya down. Why not stop the race and we'll let you put a new motor back in your bike because we'd hate you to lose due to something so unfortunate... Heck, we might as well let you back in the race and we'll even shorten it by 25% because the tire supplier with 50 years experience screwed up so big that today we have to postpone the restart for 2 and half hours(!!!!) and now have specials going on 'bad decisions' and even 'changing the rules mid-race. 2-for-1 special for 'safety' of all competitors"

yes, we are the Daytona Motorsports Group -- call us DMG -- Dumb Motorsports Guys.

Protests from a number of teams are pending. (gee, who would've thought that would happen? not AMA/DMG)

Race Results are pure fiction at the moment but Ducati has already published a press release praising themselves for breaking there Daytona losing streak. The hopeless P/R machine runs rampant in the face of sheer insanity...

(too funny)

Here's the Daytona 200 incident which takes out two top competitors going for the finish line at top speed on supersport spec 600s -- probably 165+MPH...

All caused by Josh Herrin who has developed a routine history of these sorts of dangerous actions against his fellow competitors:

Thankfully the AMA has suspended him this time and now he's issued the usual P/R b.s. that says the usual stuff...
