CSBK press release:

CSBK’S New Look and New Management for 2011

Frontline CSBK TORONTO, ON (February 22, 2011) - Frontline is proud to announce that they are the newly appointed management company of the Canadian Superbike Championship. Frontline CSBK Inc. is a Canadian owned and operated company dedicated to the development and advancement of motorcycle road racing in Canada.

Together with many of the experienced and talented staff of Professional Motorsports Productions (former Series organizer), Frontline will guide the evolution of the sport of national level motorcycle racing in a new direction; one that will improve service to racers and enhance the racing experience to fans and corporate partners.

2011 will mark the 11th season of Parts Canada’s involvement as the prime Series sponsor. Both Parts Canada and Frontline CSBK plan to continue this relationship well into the future, ensuring stability and growth in a Series that has a rich history, strong fan base and a reputation for producing very competitive racing.

"We are thrilled to be at the forefront of a new outlook at Canadian road racing. Parts Canada has always been proud of our affiliation with the Canadian Superbike Championship, and it's very exciting to be part of a new energy that will inspire the restructuring of the Canadian Series,” states James Danyluk, President of Parts Canada. We look forward to a fresh look in 2011 with the CSBK Championship presented by Parts Canada, and continuing our partnership in its future development."

The Canadian Superbike Championship has always enjoyed strong partnerships with the OEM’s, and this year will be no exception. With a minimum of six of the major manufacturers participating in the 2011 championship, we are anticipating a very exciting season. More information on industry and non-industry support for the Championship will be released soon.

The launch of www.csbk.ca is the first wave in the new direction of media for the championship. Moving towards web based media enables a broader range of coverage to consumers and racing fans, while ensuring a timely channel of information and entertainment. Reporting of race events will begin Friday morning and will include regular updates, track footage and racer interviews that will continue throughout the course of each weekend. Fans will have access to what’s going on in the paddock as well as on track on a constant basis with more timely coverage of their favorite races.

“We are excited to kick off the season with the launch of www.csbk.ca,” said Kevin Graham of Series organizer Frontline CSBK. “Moving towards more web based media platforms will enable the Series to extend our reach of public awareness and provide racers and teams with additional publicity.”

With the competition for advertising dollars increasing on a daily basis it has become imperative that sanctioning bodies and racing promoters continue to develop ways to enhance the experience for the fans watching at home and those attending an event. The intent is to bring a new generation of fans to the race track and experience one of the original and most exciting extreme sports of our era, while still in an environment that the whole family can enjoy. Frontline CSBK encourages all fans to click on, tune in and get out to an event in 2011.

The 2011 Canadian Superbike Championship kicks off on May 20th with the Pirelli tire test at Calabogie Motorsports Park which will be hosted by the Turn 2 Sportbike School. Round one will take place May 27-29 at Circuit ICAR near Montreal, Quebec.

The next biggest news for CSBK is from Szoke and McCormick the two top competitors:

Szoke “Goes Green” for 2011

Jordan Szoke signs a one year deal with Competition Systems and Canadian Kawasaki for 2011. Szoke will aim for his sixth consecutive Superbike Championship aboard the all new 2011 Kawasaki ZX10: www.kawasaki.ca/model/Supersport/1248/Ninja-ZX-10R

Szoke’s record book history with “Team Green” dates back to his first Superbike Championship in 1998 as the youngest racer to win a National Championship in Canadian History aboard a ZX-7. Szoke returned to Kawasaki in ‘06 which lead to a record breaking string of National Superbike and Sportbike Championships in 2006-2007-2008-2009 aboard the infamous 636, ZX6 and ZX10. Worldly sources were calling as Szoke was also invited to Valencia Spain in 2008 to ride the Moto GP ZX-RR, and filled in for injured AMA Superbike racer at Laguna Seca for Monster Energy Kawasaki.

Most recently Szoke earned the Superbike and Pro Sportbike National Championships in 2010 stretching his back to back consecutive championships to five. Owning and Managing his own team also earned him “Team of the Year”.

When asked about being back under the Kawasaki banner Szoke says “It feels really good to be back on a Kawi again. I have worked with the same crew in our championship seasons previous, so I am excited to be back. Kawasaki also has a new ZX10 model out so I can’t wait to ride and develop that.”

When asked about the new model for ‘11 Szoke replies, “I have spent a lot of my career developing motorcycles, and this one is no different. Kawasaki has a brand new model this year and it looks really (really) awesome. With the team that we have working with us, and my experience I don’t foresee any problems getting the new superbike up to speed.”

Competition Systems and Szoke plan on starting pre-season testing in March.

McCormick Will Ride BMW In 2011 Canadian Superbike

Brett "The Kid" McCormick returns to Canadian Superbike with BMW. McCormick signs with the BMW Motorrad Canada Superbike Team for 2011.

Richmond Hill, ON (December 20, 2010) - BMW Motorrad Canada is delighted to announce that Brett McCormick will be suiting up along side Michael Ferreira for the 2011 Canadian superbike season as part of the BMW Motorrad Canada Superbike Team.

Brett will be returning to race in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship after competing for the 2010 season in the United States with the Michael Jordan Motorsport Team. The 19-year old superbike sensation from Saskatoon brings with him a wealth of racing experience for such a young rider, including almost 5 years of racing superbikes at an elite level.

"Adding a huge talent such as Brett to our superbike team is a great coup for BMW Motorrad Canada" says Norm Wells, Director. "Brett is well liked and respected in the racing world and his track record speaks for itself. He will be a tremendous asset to our team."

2011 will be the second full season that BMW Motorrad Canada fields a two rider superbike team in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The team will once again be racing the potent S1000RR superbike that enjoyed a successful debut in Canada this past year. Michael Ferreira, a superbike rookie in 2010, will continue with the BMW team in 2011 after a very impressive season that saw him improve with every ride and cap off his season with two third place podiums at the final rounds.

The last time McCormick raced in Canada was back in 2009 where he won 4 of 7 Superbike races along with setting lap records at every track in Canada that season. Remarkably, all of these records still stand today. 2011 will not be the first time that McCormick will ride an S1000RR Superbike. He was a surprise tester at the annual press tests just after the final round of the 2009 Superbike World Championship held in Portimao where McCormick was lucky enough to test the S1000RR of Troy Corser wearing borrowed riding gear of then BMW Motorrad factory rider Ruben Xaus.

"I'm very pleased and obviously excited to join the BMW Motorrad family in 2011", says McCormick. "BMW is a great company with a history of excellence and I'm looking forward to helping the team make major inroads in the 2011 superbike season. I've had the privilege of sampling the S1000RR in WSBK trim, so I know with the superb team we have in Canada we'll be able to put on a great show and hopefully bring a Superbike Championship to BMW."
