This leaves the greasy taste of pork by-products in the back of my throat.....

The best bike is the one with a good dealer close to you and at a price you can justify. Your kid will be a bigger factor in how well he finishes than the bike will.

Not getting the pork referance is a good thing, your question is exactly the kind of thing a Spammer would post to determine a marketing survey, followed 2 days later with a dozen posts in every forum here about where to get a 'fantastic' deal on whatever brand got the most votes.

You are far better off to buy from whatever dealer is in your area. You don't want to drive 3 hrs to buy a rear fender and a clutch lever from the LEM dealer when KTM has a dealer 15 minutes away, just to be ready for the races on Sunday.
